Friday Group Therapy: Winter Activities

[Leather Couch]Yep, it’s Friday Group Therapy time for me again!

This weeks questions are about Winter stuff/activities.

  1. What is your favourite winter activity?
It’s taken me around 5 minutes to think of something: but I guess walking through crisp, clean, bright white snow and hearing the soft crunch of the snow underfoot is one of the most enjoyable.
  2. What is your least favourite winter activity?
Walking through mushed up, brown semi-melted snow. Slipping on the ice. Being cold.
  3. What was your favourite winter activity as a child?
Making snowmen and sledging down Croft Hill or through Bradgate Park.

Friday Group Therapy: Holidays

[Leather Couch]I’m still trying to do the Friday Group Therapy thing that I joined a fortnight ago – last weeks were only a day late, but since it’s practically Christmas I’m allowing myself to be slightly late.

This week, Brian has managed to think of 7 questions to do with the holiday season: yep, Crimbo time!

  1. What holiday do you celebrate this time of year and what does it mean to you?
I celebrate Christmas (also known as ‘Crimbo’ and ‘Xmas’) although I’m aware that the Jewish faith celebrate Hanukkah. What it means to me? Well, as a Christian it means the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ (although it is well known that Jesus wasn’t born on December 25th – most likely September 29th, 5 BC, but I’ve heard even mid-January). “Christmas” as a celebration actually pre-dates Christmas and goes back to Pagan origins and hence why it is not celebrated by certain parts of Christianity – most notably the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

What else does Christmas mean to me? Well, I suppose it goes deeper than “just religion”: Christmas has become a time of goodwill, friendship, love, caring, a time to think of others, family, and, of course, the commercialisation aspect. Yeh! I admit it, I like Christmas presents! 🙂

Friday Group Therapy: Friday the 13th

leathercouch.jpgYep, I’m trying to continue the Friday Group Therapy thing that I joined last week. And, strangely enough, this weeks questions are orientated around Friday the 13th

  1. How is Friday the 13th treating you so far?
Well, I have to confess I spent most of the day asleep. I didn’t go to bed until around 6am on Friday morning (just couldn’t feel tired) – and then I slept right through until around 3.30am Saturday morning.
  2. What kind of luck do you usually have? Good, bad, a mix of both?
I have to say, that I usually seem to have a mixture of luck. I haven’t won the lottery, but then neither have I been involved in a major accident: the worse one that I can recall is when I was travelling back on the school bus to home, we turned a narrow country lane, and due to the icy conditions a car (also coming round the corner, but from the opposite direction) hit the bus (just underneath from where I was sitting) and caused it to go into a ditch. We all had to climb out the back emergency exit. No one was injured, luckily, but the car was a write-off and the bus had to be off the road for a couple of weeks for repairs.
Although, if any one “with influence” is reading this, I could do with a bit more good luck at this point…
