All my personal telephone numbers have been registered with The Telephone Preference Service for some time, but today I received a recorded advertising message which has just p–ed me off. I’ve reported it to TPS and to ICSTIS (the UK regulator of premium rate numbers) with the following message:
On 15th September 2003 at 19.29BST, I received a recorded (female voice) telephone call to my home residential number (that is listed with the Telephone Preference Service).
The message said I had won a £1000 prize award (well, my telephone number had) and that I had to call 0906 638 9992 at £1.50 per minute (call last 7 minutes) to claim the £1000 award. For terms and conditions, I was to see www.moreflights.net (may be incorrect) or write to PO Box 6017, Basingstoke, RG21 4BZ.
It’s bad enough that I was called whilst my number is listed on the TPS, it’s twice as bad that it was a recorded message that had no human operator at the other end, third that I had just got to sleep after an extremely long and hard shift at work, fourthly that it was advertising a premium rate phone number and fifthly that it’s probably a “rip-off/con”!
I hope this company (which failed to give a name, details of where they had got my number – apart from ‘randomly chosen’ or any other identifying information) gets massively fined and shut down!

Just had the Nickie Fisher call.(27 Apr 2004 1:30 pm)
Thanks to google and you guys it looks like I’ve saved a tenner. Am registered with the TPS so they shall be hearing from me.
This has been going on for weeks now – how come they have not been shut down??
The number I was asked to ring was 09061118844.
Had the delight of a call from Nikki Fisher this morning. Found this link on Google (god bless ’em – and Richy).
The number they used this time was 0906 1100088.
I’ve complained to ICSTIS (thanks for the link)
I got a recorded message today from Nicky Fisher, Jackpot Promotions, asking me to call 090611 00088.
They are scum.
We had Nikki Fisher on the ansaphone today – reported to TPS – I suggest anyone who has got as far as the address sends a bag of manure to the lovely Nikki to help her roses grow!
Received 2 phone calls with recorded messages from Nicky Fisher on 26/4/2004. One had the correct personalised surname, the other was wrong!
Different numbers given in each: 0906 1118080 and 0906 1122244.
I’m registered with TPS, so have complained to TPS and ICSTIS. I don’t belive any contact address details were given, which certainly breaches the ICSTIC guidelines. Also the recorded message nature of the calls appears to breach the Telecommunications Regulations 1999 – “Use of automated calling systems for direct marketing purposes”
I’ve just had same ansewerphone message from Nikki, different number again 09061118844. Didn’t give an address, but did give an extension number (diddn’t catch it, had no pen).
I was told however (by a policeman, so I trust what he said), that even when they called you, if you press a button it CAN DIVERT TO A PREMIUM RATE NUMBER, which will leave you with a nasty bill. The policeman had actually heard of someone who got a bill for £350!(£25 per MINUTE)!! So be warned, even calls they make can cost you money!!
Nicky Fisher left a message, Googled, found this site, ICSTIS and TPS contacted. The number now is 0906 11 22 111.
How can they be allowed to set up so many phone lines?
aaaaahhh. i really thought I’d won a trip! Oh well, thank God for the internet. Nicky fisher rang, I (mug) rang back then checked here – its a scam.
oh well
I too received a call from Nikki Fisher… thankfully I’m such a sceptic that I didnt call and instead entered the 09061118844 claim number into google. Thanks to all the people who have noted this scam. What a bunch of f***ers… its a shame we have to put up with this sort of nonsense!
After listening to this message, from Ms Fisher, as mentioned in my post on 19 March 2004, I had won a 7 day Bahamas cruise. Well I thought, might as well send off my SAE couldn’t hurt.
Well today, I couldn’t believe it, I received my free 7 day Bahamas Cruise “VOUCHERS”. What a swizz, the cruise is for one person only. If you want two people to go it will cost you £799 each. There are 5 options all together option one being the one person cruise, option 2 for two people (£799 each, I don’t think so), options 3 – 5, were cheaper alternative holidays. My wif suspects there probably time share related, ie you get the holiday, but have to seat in a two presentation were the try and sell you a time share.
I suppose I recieved something, I wasn’t expecting even that.
Thox
I just had this email too, I wont be calling the number but I did forward a copy to abuse@tiscali,co.uk
The email came from was lisa765@tiscali.co.uk

Nicky Fisher struck again yesterday!
Same speil, same number given out (0906 111 8844) at 1.50 per min. A quick check on t’internet for Jackpot Promotions revealed this site.
Very cunning way of tricking people. Evil.
Darling Nicky was still going strong on 2nd May. Shame I read this afterwards!!!
I have also just been Nicky Fishered this afternnon…this time the number to call was 09061100088 – how many numbers have they got?! Thanks for the website..pity I checked it out AFTER I made the call. Won’t be sending off the SAE though 🙂
Had call from Nicky Fisher from Jackpot promotions saying I had been drawn as a major prize winner, listing the prizes I may have won. She left her name and extension number 4344 but failed to leave another number. Instead she said I could call thier claims hotline on, 0906 1100088 at £1.50 a min. Wanted to check it out and stumbled to your site. Seems like this happens a lot! Luckily you saved me an expensive phone bill, Thank you!!
Hey Guess what – I was enjoying a nice Bank Holiday monday when at around 4pm I was Nikki Fishered! – Same script as everyone else, wish I checked the internet beforehand – but alas, No – went ahead & rang the number, won the cruise same old story! – Does anyone know how much this phone call has actually cost them? There are enough people complaining about this, surely something must be able to be done collectively?
I too got a phone call on bank holiday monday from Nikki Fisher promising me all kinds of prizes. i enter loads of competitions so like an idiot rang the number she left – 0906 1100088 – 5 mins at £1.50 a minute. i was told i had won a 7 day all expenses paid cruise to the bahamas.i was told to send an sae to the following address:
jackpot promotions
po box 2087,wrexham,LL11 4ZQ.
came to my senses this morning and thought i would check out jackpot promotions through Google and found this website -wish i’d done it yesterday!
will do the same as everyone else and report it to everyone that i can.
will also contact watchdog and if they get enough complaints maybe they can investigate.
thank heavens for the internet – just wish i had checked it earlier!
I cannot believe that this scam has not been shut down after so long. What a disgrace our watchdog/lapdog is. I was given 0906 111 80 80 and the usual garbage.
I too have been nicky fishered, well sort of.
I did indeed enter a competion last year where the prize was for a VW Beetle, BUT I knew the promotoers wern’t “Jackpot” and Nicky. I came online to do a google and lo and behold here I am.
I actually came on to look up the BBC Watchdog site and see if they knew of it.
The thing I find creepy is that they knew my surname
looks like Nicky is alive and kicking across the Irish Sea as well……trust me to ring the number before my brain kicked into gear and ended up on this site !!! I’m on my way to the Bahamas as well. Tel no used was 0906 1118080, seems the only consistant thing about this is Nicky’s name and her PO Box addy in Wrexham – expensive lesson has been learnt.
Just received an amazing fax from a British Virgin Islands company called “Data Store Trading”. It rather aggressively says that legislation says I have to opt-out of their clients’ spam faxes, and that I can do this by faxing back my number to 0905 000 1911. At £1.50 per minute of course. No other way of contacting them, and the number doesn’t show up on any web searches. What’s the best thing to do in this kind of case?
Received a message on my phone from the infamous Nicky Fischer of Jackpot Promotions saying I had won the usual ..plasma screen..money..car etc. Very sceptical and so went on the web and found all your comments – thank you! She sounds very convincing, even offering her extension number (4344) to call if I wanted to talk things through. However, no standard telephone number left, only the usual £1.50 per min 0906 1122111 number.
I’ve just been fishered too!! 7 day cruise to the Bahamas! But I’m sending the envelope to find out what happens next so that the full story can be displayed. I’ve already paid for the phone call so I might as well pay for a stamp or two!
Nicky Fisher left two messages on my answer phone last month saying i had won a prize – usual plasma TV, £6000, Bahama Crise etc. with an extension number 4344 without a number as stated before. I didn’t bother ringing.
Took me a couple of weeks to discover this site, imagine my horror to discover that my initial suspicions were justified.
‘This a message for the ****** family. I am the claims manager for Jackpot Conformations. You entered one of our competitions last year. I am delighted to inform you that you have been drawn as one of the major prize winners now basically that means that i am pleased to tell you that you have won either a 42″ plasma television, a personal dvd player, £2,500 personal computer, an all expenses paid cruise to the Bahamas, or £6,ooo cash or possibly our star prize which is a £15,000 volswagen beetle. Now in order to claim your prize you call call me, as I said my name is Nikki Fisher, my extension number is 4344, alternatively you can call our automated claim line on 09061118844 thats 09061118844.
It seems that she has moved companies, funny that the extentension number remains the same.
I didn’t phone
Just a second thought- does she only leave answer machine messages, has anyone ever talked directly to nikki?
hi everyone
just had a call from nicky fisher, same crap as listed above. i didn’t even consider phoning the 0906 number quoted. the weird part is my BT phone line went dead for about 10 – 15 mins before i rec’d this call. i had just finished a call, hung up, then tried to make another call but got no dial tone. phoned the person i had previously been speaking with on my mobile to ensure they had put the phone down properly, they had. dialled my BT number from my mobile and got the 1571 recording as if i was engaged. went to the BT website (ADSL working fine) to get the BT fault line number and was just about to dial when my BT line rang, it was nicky fisher.
this may be total coincidence, but just seemed a bit weird that my usually 100% reliable BT line suddenly stopped working immediately before this automated call.
anyone else noticed their telecomm equipment behaving strangely when they received any of the above mentioned calls?
Damn that Nicky Fisher.
Are you telling me that after all the complaints to various governing bodies, this kind of thing is still happening after like eight months plus?!
Surely this woman can be stopped!
They must have made a fortune. Anyone know how its done, we should all have a go!
Where they get the numbers from? They must just be ringing random numbers or summot.
Well had my “Nicky Schpeal” this am, left message on answerphone. Thought summot was up when the answer phone missed the first few seconds of the message.
Didn’t call the number, just hit Google with the info and surprise, surprise it was a con.
If something sounds to good to be true, it usually is.
Ciao ppl…
Yup, Nikki Fisher from Jackpot Promotions is still at it – same message, same prizes. And a £1.50pm premium rate number – this time 09061122111!!
It did sound genuine, but I was suspicious because the first part of the message was chopped off my 1571 message. I was also suspicious because I don’t enter competitions.
Being a skinflint, I thought I’d try to go round the premium rate number by calling the company direct and asking for extension 4344. I searched on the internet for Jackpot Promotions website/phone number and lo and behold I found this site.
Guess I’ll not be getting a prize then, but at least I’m not out of pocket, unlike some people. Thank you to everyone who saved me an expensive phone call.
The worst thing about this scam is the way the message tells you that you have won a prize. What would happen if everyone turned up on the doorstep (or is there more than one) to claim it!
I too am glad that we checked the Internet before phoning – we got caught out once before with a mobile message telling us we had won £1500. Turned out to be a book of vouchers for things nobody in their right mind would want!
Just read the message on the answerphone. Had to listen to it 3 times because, even though she didn’t give a winners name, she said I (we?)had won a prize from a competition entered last year, telling me I had won one of the listed goodies. It was only the premium rate number given that made me think and look on the web – luckily to find this site!
I had a call from someone called Nikki Fisher claiming to be from a company called Jackpot Promotions. This call was left on my BT 1571 messages. She said I had been drawn as a winner of one of the following prizes :-
42Inch Widescreen TV
DVD Player
£2,500 PC
Cruise to the Bahamas
£6,000 in cash
£15,000 VW Beatle
The 0906 1122244 number was given with the Ext.4344. Calls cost mentioned at £1.50/min and that the call would take 5min 50Sec. closing date for claim was November 2004.
With ‘too good to be true’ ringing in my ears I googled the number and was brought to this place.
Now I know for sure it’s not worth dialling.
She’s still at it – I had a call last night – same old story – fell for it – called the number and then checked the web for horror stories (fool).. I wish us all good luck and am looking forward to seeing a “Telephone scammers found guilty – jailed for 15 (or longer) years” headline in the national press real soon..
Thank’s for sharing your stories
Just fallen for this scam, I always enter competitions so i thought I had last hit the jackpot, same name Nicky Fisher, same Wrexham address and even same claim number BH1104. Wish I had found this site earlier. Would have saved some money.
Yep! Just been taken in by the same Nicki Fisher competition scam. I am surprised that nothing has been done since the first postings way back when.
i had a message on saturday from nicky fisher, i fell for it because my husband has entered a few compititions in the past, i was about to send a s.a.e off to her but after telling my work mates they all laughed at me and said if you win a compitition you dont have to pay to £1.50 per min to claim it, so i thought i’d check it out and found all of you people, i dont feel so bad knowing that i am not the only fool to fall for it,
at least we won’t fall for this rubbish again.
Another one here that got a call from Miss Fisher. I’m so dissapointed but glad my parents scepticism worked out. Let me know when we are taking her and her company to Watchdog. Thieves!
I received one as well – same thing, money, cruise, DVD player, brand new VW Beetle, etc. I got curious because of the mention of jackpot promotions, the name and the extension number so I looked it up on the net and found this thread. Seems we all hate it and would love to stop it…..But it occurred to me that Jackpot Promotions isn’t the only one making money out of the phone calls. What about the telephone provider? Don’t they share the profits made from the use of the 0900 lines? Now if the ‘opportunity’ provided by Nicky Fisher is a bit on the dodgy side then won’t the line provider also be classed as a willing party.
Just wondered if there was a legal eagle out there amonst you lot who could make and win a case against the line provider, after all we know the telephone number.
Just got a message the same as everyone else from Nikki Fisher. The number is now 09061 11 80 80 Glad to say I am a nasty, untrusting person with severe paranoia so I didn’t bother phoning, just deleted the message. Thank god I did, after finding this site I now realise it was a scam and would have been a waste of money. Thank you all!
I had an answermachine message from Nikki Fisher yesterday (11 May). The details were exactly as Gerb menitons above (May9). Luckily I found all these messages before calling.
Just had an automated call… not recorded, generated… male voice…
Apparently my number has been specially selected to receive either £1000 cash or £5000 ‘award’ or a shiney new BMW. All I need to do is call 09065 394419 (today only). No mention of call cost or duration.
Now, where was that ICSTIS link…
Well, I have just got back from my all expenses paid trip to the Bahamas. NOT!!! What a rip. Same tart Nicki Fisher. Not happy, for a minute I thought I had won something, glad I checked it out first.
God what a mug I am. I got Nasty Nicky’s message, recognised it immmediately as a scam, and STILL phoned the bloody number! Serves me right. What I really need to win is a baseball bat and Nicky Fisher’s address.
Yes, the unscrupulous Nicky is still at it, this time giving the premium rate phone number 0906 1122244 (or phone extension 4344, no actual phone number given!). I thought it was a scam when she started on with the £1.50 per minute spiel, etc etc, but wasn’t 100% sure – but happily had enough sense not to ring the extortionate phone number. This has made me really angry as it does sound initially quite convincing, and I’m sure would take many people in – no doubt including many vulnerable folk who can’t really afford this big dent in their phone bill.
dang! rang that monkey nicky fisher! will i get big fat fone bill???? or just the 7 odd quid??
well as said here :’Another call from our Mutual Friend Nikki Fisher, same spiel Plasma TV, DVD Player, £2,500 PC, Cruise to Bahamas, £6,000 Cash, or the star Prize £15,000 Beatle. Same Extension 4334 but the number was 0906 111 88 44′
same happened to me 19.26 on 13.05.04. I have e-mailed watchdog
Received a call from Nicki Fisher (ex 4344 and tel no. 0906 11 000 88) tonight when I got in from work and seeings as I hadn’t entered a competition thought I’d google search and thank you to all you who have made an effort I have saved myself some money and some pride. Thank you for taking time out to share your experiences too.
I just got one of these today. It was exactly the same as Jo’s and I will be reporting it. Thanks to all those before I really appreciate the warnings!
Hi all,
I think I got a new one to ring, though the number seems very similar to the some of the ones everybody else had to ring.
For me it was a company called “Prizeline”, but no mention of any person’s name.
The number to call was 0905 809 0444.
The one thing that puzzled me was that the automated answer machine message that greeted me was the most unprofessional as anything I have ever heard in my life. The message was from a male voice, so looks like this Nicky Fisher has got herself some competition in the market of bogus idiots.
Any official site, I can complain to regarding this.
yep i too got the nikki fisher con today when i got home from being out. What a con, didnt dial up came on google and found your site – thanks for saving me an expensive call. i will be complaining to ictis as well
god damn time wasters.
