Snippet: Make Mental Note

Note to self: Read Homer’s Odyssey (I’ve always wondered where the story of the wooden horse of Troy and the children’s TV series Ulysses originated) and then Macbeth and Hamlet.

TV: Wow! Europe hates us

EurovisionFirst of all, congratulations go to Turkey for winning the 2003 Eurovision contest with Sertab Erener’s “Everyway that I can” (even though it reminded me a lot of Shakira’s “Whenever, Whereever”).

However, I’ve found out that Europe must hate us, because our entry of Jemini’s “Cry Baby” left Eurovision with a great big fat zero – zilch – none – “nil points”. That’s right: for the first time in the 46 years, the UK failed to gather a single point. I’m actually shocked as I didn’t think our song was that bad!

Movies: Guess Which Movie I’m going to see?

Despite this post having the inital title of “Guess Which Movie”, it isn’t part of the “Guess That Movie” competition (which, by the way, has round 58 unguessed), but rather me getting a little bit excited at the movie I’m going to be seeing tomorrow.

Basically, I’ve managed to get my boss to treat us all for a “staff afternoon out” (we’re closing around 1pmish) and we’re all heading down to a cinema to see a certain movie: and I bet you can all guess what it is….

Whilst it has been having mixed reviews, the trailer that I saw last night on TV (around 3 minutes long) clinched it for me and I’m really looking forward to seeing it now! Especially since SSCW will be going as well and we’ve been getting on quite well recently.

I’ll let you know my thoughts upon my return.

Poll: Personality Disorder

Personality DisorderWell, according to the Personality Disorder Test, I have a very high chance being Schizoid:

People with schizoid personality disorder avoid relationships and do not show much emotion. They genuinely prefer to be alone and do not secretly wish for popularity.

Well, I don’t tend to avoid relationships – but I do tend to keep myself to myself and I’m not bothered whether I’m popular or not.

They tend to seek jobs that require little social contact.

Any sort of computer work is a solitary sort of job, although I have had jobs where I came in contact with several hundred people a day! I don’t mind either way.

Their social skills are often weak and they do not show a need for attention or acceptance.

Disagree with the first part, agree with the latter.

They are perceived as humourless and distant and often are termed “loners.”

Ditto.

I’m also at a moderate chance of being Schizotypal (mild schizophrenia) – which I do agree with as I’m of the belief that everybody is schizophrenic to a degree (if you think you’ve got a consciousness isn’t that “a voice in your head talking to you?”).

Make of it what you will…
