Guess That Movie: XIV: Dr. Strangelove

[Guess That Movie Round 14]Now I am annoyed! LD managed to increase his/her/their lead by another 100 points by recognising Mouth (played by Corey Feldman) having the jewels removed from his mouth by Mama Fratelli near the end of the 1985 children’s movie The Goonies. A movie well worth watching as it’s quite funny as the gang try and get One Eyed Willies treasure (and, no, I don’t think that is a reference to part of the male anatomy).

I think I’ve been giving away the points so easily as most of you can remember the films – so let’s go back into the mists of time for this image. And to make it extra difficult to guess, I’ve slightly photo-edited the image. Nothing too major, but hopefully enough to through you off the scent… After all, LD only needs another 120 points to be the first one to claim the prize! I’m actually so confident that this one is going to be extra difficult to guess, that I’m going to offer another 20 points if you can name the actors AND characters shown in the image capture – but if you do guess at them, you’ve also got to get the movie title right at the same time: an guess is either going to be totally correct or incorrect (so, you can guess at the name of the movie and just go for the ‘normal points’ or gamble for the extra 20 points by going for the actors and character names at the same time).

Donations to the prize fund are more than welcome by the way! šŸ™‚

27th Jan 00:36 – The movie is actually black and white. I manually added the color/colour to confuse.

This post is over 6 months old.

This means that, despite my best intentions, it may no longer be accurate.

This blog holds over 12 years of archived content - during that time, I may have changed my opinion of something, technology will have advanced (and old "best standards" may no longer be the case), my technology "know how" has improved etc etc - it would probably take me a considerable amount of time to update all the archival entries: and defeat the point of keeping them anyway.

Please take these posts for what they are: a brief look into my past, my history, my journey and "caveat emptor".

Ooh – looks like this one’s slightly difficult. It’s been over twelve hours so far and nobody has even taken a guess at the movie it’s from yet…

Just to clarify the “bonus points” thing. If you know the name of the movie (or think you do): take a guess – you’ll still get the “normal” points (currently 90).

However, if you think you know the characters, actors AND the movie name – take a guess at them and you could earn an extra bonus 20 points. However, you’ve got to get all three right if you are going for a guess like that (I’m looking for something like “Left hand guy – DDD played by RRR. Right hand man – SSS played by TTT in the film RRR”). Get any of them wrong and you’ll get no points at all (you’ll just get a “Sorry wrong answer” response from me without me saying where you’ve gone wrong).

Go on – take a guess!

  2. LD says:

So Richy, what you’re saying is that the actor’s name of the left hand guy is the name of the movie? šŸ˜‰

  3. Richy C. says:

Not quite – but the actor on the left does appear a lot in the movie…

me n super beast master are here and pi—d, were going to guess, E.T

    alcyhol rules

  5. Richy C. says:

Nope, it’s not the 1982 movie ET. It’s not an alien-orientated movie – but one of the characters does suffer from a strange affliction (which does exist in real life) that has links to Extra Terrestrials. One of the nicknames of the affliction is actually the character’s name…

Hmmm, drink. I’ve only had two alcopops today (been out all day though) so I’ll think I’m going to join you in “Merry Land” shortly šŸ™‚

  6. Ph33r_m3 says:

sorry about saturday night, but we were a bit inebriated, so maybe you shouldnt count E.T as a guess, It was the only film we could think of, and give me an extra five points for correctly guessing it as, Dr strangelove or : how i learned to stop worrying and love the bomb

  7. Ph33r_m3 says:

    dont know the actors though
