Guess That Movie: XVII: Event Horizon

[Guess That Movie 17]Congratulations new player KHD for recognising the previous image was Robin William’s “What Dreams May Come[Order from] . Hello, welcome and well done 🙂

The image was taken from around the 44th minute of the movie and just shows Dr. Chris Nielson (Robin Williams) and Leona (Rosalind Chao) in a boat together in heaven. It’s one of those films which you’ll either really like or just don’t “get”. I fall in to the latter category – I did try watching it but it just didn’t hold me interest for long enough.

Anyway, on to the new image which marks round 17 of Guess That Movie!. It’s blue and, marking a change from the previous two images, it shows a bloke on his own. But who? And more important in which film? The last one was from a “dream” but this one appears to be more from a nightmare!

Go on have a guess, that’s points to be grabbed and prizes to be won, it’s a real crazy game where anything goes.. Funhouse, it’s a ….. Sorry – just drifted off into early 1990’s UK children’s television gameshows there…(and, no, that wasn’t a clue).

A: Event Horizon [Order from] . Correctly guessed by Dr. G

This post is over 6 months old.

This means that, despite my best intentions, it may no longer be accurate.

This blog holds over 12 years of archived content - during that time, I may have changed my opinion of something, technology will have advanced (and old "best standards" may no longer be the case), my technology "know how" has improved etc etc - it would probably take me a considerable amount of time to update all the archival entries: and defeat the point of keeping them anyway.

Please take these posts for what they are: a brief look into my past, my history, my journey and "caveat emptor".

  1. ph33r_m3 says:

    is it clive barkers night-breed?

  2. Richy C. says:

Nope, it isn’t Clive Barker’s Night Breed. I haven’t seen that film (yet), but I’ll put it on my list of ones to watch 🙂

  3. Richy C. says:

    Which Batman movie? There’s several…

  4. Richy C. says:

Did you know Tim Curry (from GTM4: Scary Movie 2) and Robin Williams (from the previous Guess That Movie of What Dreams May Come) were considered for the role of the Joker in the original Batman?

In any event, it isn’t the Tim Burton 1989 film Batman [Order from] which starred Michael Keaton, Kim Basinger and Jack Nicholson as the Joker.

  5. Oh man, horror films are notorious for sequels so even if you get the right series you could still be stuck! Yet again, I don’t have a clue.

  6. Richy C. says:

True – and you think I’m going to make it easy by revealing how many (if any) sequels or prequels to this particular movie were made, then you’ve got another thing coming. Mwwaaahhh!

Honestly, I need some time to work on a new site and with you guys correctly guessing the movie every twenty minutes or so – I don’t get much time to do so. But one thing I will say, if you’ve seen this film you are going to curse not recognising it when the answer is revealed.

Oh – there’s no clues in this comment, but there was in the previous one. (Just call me evil – now you are going to be reading that comment again and again looking for the clue mwahhhaaa)

  7. Paul says:

It’s John Candy from “Brewster’s Million’s” right? Damn, I sure love that movie!!

  8. Richy C. says:

I’ll assume you are referring to the latest “remake” of that movie 😉

No, it wasn’t taken from the 1985 movie Brewster’s Millions [Order from] . Actually, I could have sworn it had Eddie Murphy instead of Richard Pryor in the lead role (and, as I love the movie I should have realised by now), but…

As a childhood electronic toy used to say “Eh-eh. Error in wrong place. Try again”

  9. Jo McC says:

    Guess that movie:-
Is it ‘The Hitcher’? It looks like Rautger Haue (sorry about spelling!)

  10. Dr G says:

Guess That Movie XVII is Event Horizon.

  11. Dr G says:

And it’s Sam Neill by the way.

  12. Dr G says:

    Guessed? I knew it!

  13. Richy C. says:

Yeah, yeah – that’s what they all say 🙂

It’s not called “Know that movie”, it’s called “Guess that movie” – me laughing at the incorrect guesses is all part of the fun!
