Life: Really p–d off at ex-gf

[Anger]I’ve just found out who sent me the flowers on the 6th of November.

My blinking ex-girlfriend. *grr*.

She came round today to drop off a book and video that an old friend borrowed (Hellraiser video and Tom Sharpe’s Indecent Exposure by the way). We started talking about her new boyfriend etcetera and the conversation just slightly drifted. She then told me she had a confession to make and that she was the one that sent me the flowers (“to play with your head and hopefully get you back with me”).

Life: Saturday Night Partying

[Weird Al in Zanzibar]I went out “on the town” again on Saturday night. Unlike Monday, I didn’t get k-lined/drunk but I still had a reasonable night out for not much cash.

As I had an £7.50 drinks voucher for Zanzibar, I decided to go there. I called a local taxi firm (as I knew the chances of me catching a bus into town that late were nil to non-existent) and got into Leicester city around 9.45pm. Paid the taxi driver (£6 – although the fare was only £5), grabbed some cash from the nearest cash point and wandered down Churchgate, up Mansfield Street and down Sandacre Street to Zanzibar (little local historical fact for you, the site on Gravel Street/Sandacre Street where Zanzibar is used to be a bus station – even though St. Margaret’s bus station is just opposite – and then it turned into a rollerdrome during the day and Zanzibar nightclub at night: now it’s just the night club) and I went in.

Life: Monday night drunkedness

[Lisa Scott-Lee from Steps]Right, I’ve been meaning to do this all week – but I’ve only now really just got the time and the inclination to blog about Monday night. It wasn’t anything spectacular, but since they don’t let me out much 😉 I thought I may as well write a little summary of that night.

Oh, I wasn’t sure if I was going to go out or not, but then the barman/owner text messaged me/SMSed me asking for recommendation of sources of Karaoke tracks. I texted him back with a couple of short recommendations and then burnt a couple of CDRs with a few tracks I had lying around. I was quite surprised as last time I tried burning anything, I just kept on getting failed CDs (after 8 of them, I gave up and put it down to a drive fault).

So I decided to go out. I went to catch the bus into town (why pay for a taxi if you can help it?): but I missed the bus by around 2 minutes. Yep, I still don’t know the late night bus time tables around here (the First Leicester website doesn’t help by just saying the bus is every 30 minutes) – so I ended up walking into town. Just as I got into town, the following bus passed me: so no time difference between me walking and catching the bus, I saved money (ok, 75p) AND I got some exercise…

Personal: Congrats Sis!

[Torn L plate]Congratulations to my sister on passing her practical driving test yesterday! Woo! Well done sis!

Now I’ve just got to get round to applying for a new license (my license was in my wallet when it got stolen a couple of months back), then have a brief “refresher” on the road and then get around to taking my test… I can drive a car all right – just not legally on my own yet 🙂

I also found out yesterday that a good friend’s father passed away last week. My condolences to you – and, yep, I will send you that e-mail as I promised…

Personal: Sunday’s Scribblings

[Pot Noodle]Hmm, it seems to be a slow day for bloggers today – of all the 15 entries currently on my BlogRoll, only Ain’t Too Proud to Blog and Ciaran have updated their blogs today: and they were at 3.15am and 9.19am respectively. Com’on guys – it’s the weekend, give me something to read 🙂

Whilst I still have no idea who Kim is, I did speak to my green-eyed southern friend (GESF) for a bit which brightened up my day. We had a good laugh, but I didn’t appreciate her blowing a whistle down the phone line to me! Ouch! We couldn’t talk for long though as we were both in the midst of making dinner- but I’ve got to remember the 19th of December as I’m going to send her a birthday card, Christmas card (for her and her flatmate) and presents: but what exactly, I’m not sure….

Apart from that, my parent’s came round this morning for their fortnightly visit (getting me out of bed as per usual 🙁 ) – and apart from discussing Crimbo and them muttering that my house could be cleaner (yep, I’ve let it “go” a little bit: but I’m going to start really cleaning in the next few days when I get time) not much was said. I’ve just a list of 7 new DVDs to order from Amazon.co.uk for them – thank goodness Amazon still have the “free delivery” offer on!

Oh – also went down the shop to try and grab some more chocolate, but they’ve ran out of the special offer stuff at the moment (it’s actually 200g bars for 85p), but I grabbed a few other bits and bobs whilst I was down there which is good.

And I’ve also found time to make a couple of minor modifications to my blog – the webcam now appears in a funky pop-up window, a thumbnail of the webcam appears on the front page (before it used to be just the “main” image resized – at around 50K, but now a little script generates a nice bandwidth-friendly 4K thumbnail), and I’m trying to put a little “icon” type image to the top-left of each blog entry to try and help break-up all the text. Any comments if people like/dislike this practise would be welcomed 🙂

Anyway – gotta go now, my big dinner is nearly ready (I’ve only had a Pot Noodle all day today so I’m hungry).
