Guess That Movie: XLVIII: Lethal Tender

Guess That Movie 48Somebody could have reminded me a couple of rounds ago that I’m meant to do a “Scores so far” every nine images – I’ve missed the latest one… I’ll tell you what though, after this image there won’t be a new Guess That Movie image until Monday: this will give me a chance to catch up with the scores, work on the new site and a few other things (and have another attempt at sending out Kymberlie prizes: a problem with Amazon prevented the last prize going out and she’s earned herself a fair few more points since then – like recognising Angelina Jolie in Original Sin amazoncom:B00005V4XU which was round 47).

Go on, leave a guess and see if you can recognise the movie from this image – if you think you do know which movie the screen shot is from, leave a comment with your name (or alias), email address and your guess and I’ll try and mark it correct or incorrect as soon as possible.

“In 1978 a crack commando unit was sent to bed by their urges for the necessity to reproduce. The woman then gave birth from a minimum security hospital to a son. Today, still wanted by women everywhere, he survives as a soldier of fortune. If you are single. If you are female, and if you can find him, maybe you can date, Richy C.”
(yep, it’s “not a cartoon, but my ego needs stroking” style totally unrelated TV lyrics time: and if there is anything bigger than my ego, I want it found and shot – plus it looks ugly in those sun glasses and the wig…)

Oh – extra 20 points for the first person to recognise a) the unrelated TV show, b) the unrelated Radio Show AND c) the unrelated cartoon strip mentioned in that “quote” and paragraph…
A: Lethal Tender amazoncom:6304542941 . Correctly guessed by Kymberlie R. McGuire

  1. Nope. Sorry, it isn’t Vanilla Sky – try again…

  2. Jay Jay

    Jawbreaker! Isn’t that Rose?

  3. Sorry Jay, it isn’t Jawbreaker and (and here I’m giving away an extra clue), the character’s name isn’t Rose (as far as I remember the film, she wasn’t referred to by anything but her nickname…)

  4. jay jay

I mean rose mcgowan. *boner* Jay doesn’t want to guess anymore for this round; i’m too nice and i don’t want to run the points down too low…

  5. Good thing you didn’t guess: because the pictured actress is NOT Rose McGowan. But I’ll give a “eh?” style clue (i.e. a clue that’s obvious from my point of view and probably somebody elses in my mind set): The actress may not be Celine Dion, but Terence and Phillip may like her – that’s if a certain Iraqi leader that’s been in the news recently does not take over her country…

    Unrelated TV Theme: The A-Team.

  7. Oh, a third of the way to the bonus points: but you need to recognise the cartoon strip and radio series (which also got turned into a TV series) referenced in >> …anything bigger than my ego, I want it found and shot – plus it looks ugly in those sun glasses and the wig <<

  8. Well done, the radio show is HitchHikers Guide To The Galaxy (Zaphod Beeblebrox, President of the Galaxy on the Heart Of Gold to be exact).

So, to claim the 20 bonus points, which cartoon strip does the rest of the “quote” bit come from?

For those of you who are still puzzling about the screenshot (after all, this is Guess That Movie) perhaps if I said another actress in the movie will shortly be reloading her guns in a revelational movie – does that help?

  9. I’m clueless on the Film but is the radio show Hitchhiker’s Guide?

  10. Mojave Moon?

  11. Well, you’re right!

Well, right as in it not being Momento.

Does it help if I clarify the “Terence and Philip” clue by stating that the pictured actress is Canadian?

  12. Jay Jay

    God forbid, RED PLANET?!?!?!?!?!?

  13. Sorry – but it isn’t Red Planet either….

The clues so far: The picture shows a Canadian actress AND the movie also starred Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity from The Matrix) – that means (taking into account the fact that Red Planet and Memento have already been guessed, leaves you with less than 20 movies to guess at).

  14. Yesss…. We have a whinnnerrr!!!

Well done Kymberlie – it was Lethal Tender. Unfortunately, it’s going to be around 6 hours or so before I can let you know if there are any points left (6 incorrect guesses means 30 points have been lost and it’s been a while since it was posted)…
