Well, it seems Google has admitted that there is a problem with their search engine (after all the news coverage after the “Florida Update” where lots of sites went ‘missing’ – take a look at the New Google Website and let me know what you think.
As for the BBC, well, I’m pleased to announce that as from now – I’m providing all the news for them! Don’t believe me – check http://news.bbc.co.uk yourself!
(Ok, ok – it’s a bug in Internet Explorer, Mozilla and many other browsers – but if you are on Windows you can get a patch from WindowsUpdate – thanks to CNN).
In other news – do NOT trust any links on sites or in email – that Paypal or Ebay site may not be what it seems…
This post is over 6 months old.
This means that, despite my best intentions, it may no longer be accurate.
This blog holds over 12 years of archived content - during that time, I may have changed my opinion of something, technology will have advanced (and old "best standards" may no longer be the case), my technology "know how" has improved etc etc - it would probably take me a considerable amount of time to update all the archival entries: and defeat the point of keeping them anyway.
Please take these posts for what they are: a brief look into my past, my history, my journey and "caveat emptor".
Are you sure there’s a patch? I updated just now and rebooted and it still affects IE.
It kinda affects Firebird but the address bar at least says http://www.google.com%00%01@www.altavista.com/ .
Nah – there isn’t really a patch at the moment: but I’m sure if you install Linux the problem won’t be so severe 😉
