The previous “Guess That Movie” image was of when Basil Exposition (played by Michael York) was programming Austin Power’s Pimpmobile to travel back in time to 1975 so he could rescue his Dad – Nigel Powers (Michael Caine) – who had been kidnapped by the owner of Club 69 – Goldmember – as part of Dr.Evil’s plan (Austin, Goldmember and Dr.Evil all played by Mike Myers. Oh – LD (welcome back!) was the correct guesser by realising it was from Austin Powers 3 – Goldmember . Most people fell for my “Back To The Future” set up – but if you had paid attention to that excellent series, you would have realised that the DeLorean shows the entire date and time on the display and it also shows “Previous, Current, Destination” times in three rows with the describing text to the left of the time display and not on top. Yep, I’m evil – so sue me 🙂

I’ve decided that once this image has been guessed I’ll try and construct the high score table – so allow at least an hour between me saying “Yep, guessed correctly” in the comments and the next image.

To enter, just leave a comment with your guess. The comment system isn’t just about the guesses though – if you’ve got an idea or something (“hey – how about blurring the next picture?” 🙂 ) then feel free to post it. I’ll try not to be too stringent about what is a guess though – “Did you see film XY or Z last week” won’t be interpreted as a guess, but “It looks like that sexy man Richy C. in Y, but I’m not sure” will be a guess.

Why the “what’s a guess” bit? Well, my money is at stake!

A: Ocean’s Eleven. Correctly guessed by Super Beastmaster.

I don’t know how he did it – but P33r_m3 has managed three “Guess That Movies” in a row! The last movie image, as he correctly guessed, was indeed from the 2001 movie Evolution starring (from left to right in the picture and ignoring the scientist/doctor in the background) Julianne Moore, Orlando Jones and David ‘Fox Mulder From The X-files’ Duchovny.

I haven’t had a chance to even think about doing the scores yet – but here’s the latest image. The only clue I’m going to give is: “That isn’t the year the movie was made.”

A: Austin Powers 3: Goldmember. Correctly guessed by LD.

Congratulations P33r_m3 for correctly guessing the previous Guess That Movie image. The flag was from the insurance company-cum-boat “that sailed the wide account-seas” the “Crimson Tide” from the mini-feature at the start of Monty Python’s The Meaning Of Life .

He/she/it 🙂 even managed to guess it within the first hour, so they get the full one hundred points…. grrr…

I haven’t had a chance yet to work out all the scores, but they are coming soon – I promise! In the meantime, try this little image for size. No clues yet (with a prize at stake I want to make it as hard as possible), so just guess away.

A: Evolution. Correctly guessed by Ph33r_m3

Congratulations Ph33r_m3 for correctly guessing (or recognising) the previous “Guess That Movie image. The picture showed Leelee Sobieski playing “Aldys Martin” in the film Never Been Kissed . The screen shot is taken from near the end of the movie at the prom ball, just as Drew Barrymore’s character (Josie ‘Josie Grossie’ Geller) is giving the “you will spend your whole lives trying to keep others down because it makes you feel more important… Find out who you are and try not to be afraid of it” speech.

Anyway, on to this image. No people this time, just a flag. How are you meant to recognise a movie from a flag? With great difficulty 🙂 Some people have already remarked that a few of the images have been extremely easy (although the previous one seemed to have people guessing a bit), so let’s see how long a “really hard one” (in my eyes at least) takes to be correctly guessed. I’m feeling in a generous mode so I’m going to give a clue – D.Crepid Holdings and O. Verpaid Associates Ltd had connections with this film.

But it’s going to be worth guessing – I’ve decided on a prize system.

A: Monty Python’s The Meaning Of Life. Correctly guessed by Ph33r_m3

Congratulations “LD” for correctly guessing that the previous picture was, indeed, of Richard Moll as “Hugh Kane” as David Cross as “Dwight Hartman” in the “wheelchair fight” scene in Scary Movie 2

Well, the last “Guess That Movie” lasted a whole three and a quarter hours so obviously they are getting slightly harder – see what you make of this one though.

For those who have just joined us, hello and welcome. Pull up a seat, glance at the small image and guess which movie it is from. Don’t try enlarging it by clicking on it – it won’t work. What prize is there? Well, at the moment there isn’t a prize, but thanks to an idea by andersja (who currently holds the record for the ‘quickest guessed image’ at 5 minutes), I’m seriously considering one or two. I don’t yet know what they are, how they’ll be awarded (or even if they will), but enter now and at least you’ll stand a chance to win a possible future prize.
