Fun: Things People Said

[Things People Said]I’ve found some of the entries on the “Things People Said” site quite funny (it lists “lines spoken by people intending to say something else”).

Some of the accident reports are well known to fans of Jasper Carrott, (such as “Coming home, I drove into the wrong house and collided with a tree I don’t have.” and “The pedestrian had no idea which direction to go, so I ran over him.”) but some of the news reports are quite funny (“The driver involved in this incident asked that her gender not be revealed.” and “Seasonal weather for the time of year.”)

Fun: I Used To Believe

[I Used To Believe that Scully and Mulder were real]I used to believe is a collection of ideas that adults thought were true when they were children; some of them are funny, some of them are bizarre, but they’re all true”. Yep, someone has started a collection of all those things you used to believe when you were a little nipper! When I discovered this site, I spent a very pleasant afternoon giggling at what other people used to believe and then going nearly into shock when I realised “I used to believe that as well!”. I have made a contribution to the site, but some of the things I did used to believe in are quite embarrassing. I still believe in true love (hopefully!), that the world is round, and that the Moon is made of cheese (I saw it on “Wallace and Gromit” so it must be true!).

What about you? What did you used to/still believe?

Fun: Lego Movies

[A shot from One: A Space Odyssey]Ok, I was just about to blog about something else funny that I found on the ‘net, when I came across the Lego Movie website. Last time I checked, they only had part of Monty Python and the search for the Holy Grail, but they’ve now got: “Scary Thriller” – a horror movie type spoof which, just as you think something is about to happen, it doesn’t – a “a Star Wars Spoof (actually “Episode V 1/2: ‘The Han Solo Affair'”) which, although being just a single running gag had me laughing (either I’m easily pleased, it was funny or it was because I should be in bed now).

They’ve also got One: A Space Odyssey (parody of 2001 – I’m just about to start re-reading that book after reading 3001, 2061 and 2010 – and yep, in that order), but the Spider-Man spoof was just too quick for my liking… I’ve found out that most of those were actually made by Spite Your Face productions and they’ve got a good background details page about ‘One’.

There’s also a Lego rendition of M.C.Escher‘s Ascending And Descending picture and Belvedere out there on the net…

No wonder after all that active, the little men just want to relax, build computers and smoke!

Hmm, I so much want to buy some Lego’s now: it’s been age’s since I last played with them… *sigh*.

Fun: Do The Funky Chicken

[Bloke doing the Funky Chicken]Ever wondered how to do the Funky Chicken dance? Now, available with photos, it the “Do The Funky Chicken” dance steps – all together now: “Flap down on every beat, and back up in time for the next”… Don’t get it confused with Spitting Image‘s “The Chicken Song though!

Or you could also see a Flash animation by Joe Cartoon of a “real” chicken being funky, or learn how to do a whole selection of dances at the “How To Dance Properly” site.

Fun: The Dangers of Drink

Here’s a little Macromedia Flash movie about The Dangers of Alcohol Consumption. From talking with spitting, to dancing like an idiot, to kung-fu fighting, seeing something scary in the morning, people laughing at you (instead of with you) to singing – it’s all here…And I’m not guilty of any of them… Erm: well, maybe if you leave the singing and dancing out of the equation.

I wonder how many totalxsive is guilty of? 🙂
